Since June 2024, visa applicants can apply for their visa online. They can do so via the Consular Services Portal of the Federal Foreign Office. Currently this includes the following categories:

1. Work
   1. Opportunity Card
   2. Blue Card (EU)
   3. Qualified professionals with a recognized academic degree
   4. Skilled workers with professional training
   5. Employment according to Section 19c (1) Residence Act (§19c I AufenthG i.V.m. §26 I BeschV)*
   6. ICT- Card (intra-corporate transferees)*
2. Education
   1. Study (including preparatory language course)
   2. Seeking a university place
   3. Basic or advanced training
3. Family reunion (except for subsidiary protection)

After uploading your visa application your documents will be checked by the Embassy and you will then only have to come to the Embassy to have your fingerprints taken and pay the application fee.

*Attention: If you want to apply for a ICT-Card or an employment according to Section 19c (1) Residence Act, please select the category "Taking up employment with professional experience". Instead of the document "Proof of qualified professional experience", you can alternatively provide your CV or a letter from your employer.
