Your knowledge of German has to be at least at an intermediate level (level A1). You can prove your language skills with a language certificate (e.g. from the Goethe-Institut). The Embassy may assess your German skills through a short dialogue at the counter.
No. Generally the purpose of an au pair stay is to improve your language skills, so the mother tongue of the host family should be German. Therefore, it is not possible to work as an au pair in a German/Korean Family.
